Doggie Tuna Casserole
I was checking out an 'Everyday with Rachel Ray' magazine the other day and came across this dog recipe. I don't have a dog and I'm not even sure how healthy this recipe is for them but if you try it please send me a photo of your dog enjoying it.

Doggie Tuna Casserole

1/2 cup 1/2 &1/2 or whole milk
1 6oz can tuna in water, drained
1 cup cooked egg noodles
1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 tbsp grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese

In a medium saucepan, heat the 1/2 and 1/2 or milk over medium heat. Mash in the tuna. Stir in the noodles, peas, and cheese. Let cool

Serves 4 pups

Hallway Bathroom Remodel - Day 11
After a break of a few weeks, so Alex could work on his possible TV project, we got back to work on the hallway bathroom. In case any of you are wondering why this is only day 11 instead of week 8, 9, 10, or whatever we're at right now, we are keeping track of the days we do actual work - this way I don't get so depressed thinking about the magnitude of the job.

This has been another of those "are we insane" days. After much discussion, humming and haaing (all on the part of Alex), my construction-worker-of-a-husband decided we should take down the ceiling in the hallway bathroom. This job just gets bigger and bigger. The main reason for doing this is to make it easier to install the new fan and recessed shower light. A second reason is that Alex wants to replace all the old insulation in the attic and replace it with newer and more effective stuff. He then tied it all together saying that if we removed the insulation it would make it easy to remove the ceiling and therefore much easier to install the electrical items. Huh??? All I could think was, is this really necessary?

Apparently so because yesterday we removed all the insulation above the bathroom (we will work on the rest of the attic as it gets cooler in the winter) along with a couple of bird's nests and who knows what else. It was disgustingly filthy, sticky, sweat-inducing work because of the high humidity we had yesterday. But look at how clean that part of the attic is now with these before and after photos.

Today we removed the bathroom ceiling. Well, actually Alex did all the work while I was grocery shopping. When all the mess had been removed he started cleaning out the eaves, which in our house are very shallow, and he kept pulling out nest after nest - it was truly gross. I'm not sure if they were all bird's nests or other types as well. We've often heard critters running around the attic and even had an opossum up there at one time. Anyway, we are now open to the rafters - I hope there are no critters running around tonight.
