Practice Makes Perfect
Alex practiced tiling today. He bought some thin-set mortar, a mixing tool, and a new trowel for spreading the mortar. After attaching a piece of cement board to the garage wall he practiced setting his first tiles. I think he did a great job and our bathroom will be perfect when he's finished it.

The main idea of our column is that “talent” is overrated; that practice really does make perfect; and that it’s a good idea to do what you truly love in life, because if you don’t, you probably won’t work hard enough at it to get really good.
